07-451 X-ray Output Detector This low-cost X-ray Output Detector offers a dynamic means of demonstrating X-ray generator performance. It is used with a storage or camera oscilloscope to display the intensity-time relationship of an X-ray beam. To use, the detector is placed in the X-ray beam, and the output cable is connected to the oscilloscope input. The resulting wave shape patterns are used to calibrate and/ or diagnose malfunctions in the X-ray generator. The detector supplies a crisp 200 mV signal at standard diagnostic conditions (80 kVp, 100 mA). This extremely high output permits the simple interpretation of oscilloscope displays. Since the detector rise time is better than 1 microsecond, no alteration of the true X-ray output pulse shape is introduced.
