958A-10/20/30/40 Remote Alarm and Indicators

 958A-10/20/30/40 Remote Alarm and Indicators
Remote alarms are available for area and process monitors to provide a visual/audible indication of a high alarm state. Remote alarm units are also available with an analog meter scale that indicate in the range of 0 to 107 CPM or various mR/h ranges.

Remote alarms for process and area monitors are driven by the associated ratemeter or Model 960 Local Control Unit, which provides both the analog signal (for the meter) and the alarm signal (for the visual and the audible indication). For ion chamber area monitors, the remote alarm can be electrically driven by the digital preamplifier.

The Models 958A-10/20/30 Remote Alarm/Indicator continuously indicate the level of radiation at the detector site and provide a visual and audible indication of a high radiation level on an analog meter, light and Sonalert. The meter of the Remote Alarm/Indicator is an analog meter scale which indicates in the range of 0.01 to 103 mR/h for the Model 958A-10, 0.1 to 104 mR/h for the Model 958A-20, and 1 to 105 mR/h for the Model 958A-30. The Model 958A-40 Remote Alarm provides only an audible/visual indication of a high alarm state. The light and Sonalert are actuated when the radiation level exceeds the high alarm set point of the UDR. All models have a momentary pushbutton to silence the Sonalert.

The remote alarm/indicator is an optional component of the Model 955A GM Area Monitor. A typical GM area monitor consists of the following instruments: a Model 897A Series GM Detector, a Model 956A Universal Digital Ratemeter and a Model 958A Remote Alarm/Indicator.

  • Easy to read visual indicators
  • Informs personnel to any change in radiological condition
  • Analog meter, scaled to range of ratemeter
  • Audible alarm (most with silence pushbutton) alerts operators of increasing radiation in monitored area or process stream
